Bumping Up… Bunny Mallow

Interviews can be a tricky topic. Not only do you have to create engaging content, but you also have to come up with questions that make for a cohesive read. And that’s all before you’re even able to find time in the interviewee’s busy schedule to ask the questions.

If it were an interview with someone you’re already aware of, then it’s more likely you will read it, right? But what about those you don’t know. You could be missing out on getting to know your next new favourite wrestler, and you wouldn’t even know it.

In order to spread the word on talent on the indie circuit, I went back to basics.

Bumping Up is here to point you in their direction and broaden your scope on indie wrestlers and promotions from all over the world. If you like what you read, give them a follow & check out their next show. You never know where all this will take you.

So without further ado, let’s get down to brass tacks & introduce you to…

Name: Bunny Mallow

Age: 20

Hometown: London

How many years have you been a professional wrestler? I had my first training session in January 2017 and debuted in July 2019, so I’m still at the beginning of my journey~! I was injured in training back in 2017 which meant I had to take 6 months off wrestling, but I came back as soon as I could~. I don’t regret it one bit~! You just have to never give up~! I currently train with Burning Hearts Fighting Entertainment~!

Who are your role models? (either currently or growing up)The first match I watched was an Io Shirai match, so she’s always been a role model. She’s so good~! I also really like watching Asuka and Jungle Kyona. Stone Cold Steve Austin is also one of my all time favourites! There’s so much amazing wrestling to watch right now~! That’s why I try to keep up with as much wrestling as I can~!

Was this something you always wanted to do or did you slowly transition from ‘9-5’ to where you are now? I’m a student at university, and started wrestling when I was in college so it’s been a lot easier to manage wrestling along with school~! I’m not sure what the future holds in terms of wrestling full time, but my goal is just to do lots of wrestling~! I’m also a musician, so I’ve always wanted to work in the entertainment industry! As long as I can keep on wrestling I’m a happy bunny~!

What are your main goals for the next few years? To keep on getting better, add lots more awesome moves to my arsenal, and to win as many matches as I can~! I’m just hoping to gain more experience, and maybe even win a title~! That would be so cool! So basically just become an all-round better wrestler (and eat more sweets)~!

What’s your proudest achievement in your career so far? My debut~! I’d been training twice a week for quite a while up to that point, and I really wanted to prove that all my hard work had paid off~! When I got to the ring I was so excited but so nervous because I really wanted to do good~! But I managed to win! When I went backstage afterwards I was exhausted, but knew I wanted to do matches like that over and over and over again~! That’s when I knew~!

And finally where are some of the promotions fans can currently, see you in action? I wrestle the most with Burning Hearts Fighting Entertainment, but this year I’ll also be wrestling with IWE (Independent Wrestling Elite) and I’m making a few debuts this year~! Follow me on social media to keep up with announcements~!
