Monday News: The Main Event of Wrestlemania, Nikki Bella Retires, Hart Foundation in the HOF

A handful of newsworthy items dropped since everyone woke up this morning, here they are!

RAW Women’s Championship Match to Main Event Wrestlemania

Many people thought this would be the case all along, but the WWE officially confirmed that the Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair match will main event Wrestlemania. I think everyone assumed this would be the case. There was a good amount of speculation that the WWE, specifically Vince McMahon, would wait until the week of to make this decision. But I never thought that would be the case. If the women were going to main event Wrestlemania I figured there would be a PR push in the weeks leading up to the show. So be prepared for that. I just hope the WWE doesn’t do something stupid like have all the women on stage hugging after the match.

Nikki Bella Announces Retirement On Total Bellas

No, I did not watch the show. I watched The Walking Dead. And man if you are a fan of that show you need to see that episode ASAP. But if you DVR’d it you are going to be screwed because in most guides Walking Dead ended at 10 and Into the Badlands started at 11, but it was still Walking Dead.

Anyways, Nikki Bella confirmed that she is done in the ring at the age of 35. Nikki always wanted to start a family and I could see her wanting to do that sooner rather than later. Nikki said she realized she was ready to retire while on the last European tour. Nikki was fine in the ring. She was much better than her sister. She was never at the level of the current women but I think she was better than people give her credit for. I just don’t like when they are pushed as leaders of the women’s revolution and role models when I disagree with that.

The Hart Foundation to be Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

This was “first reported” by Yahoo News then confirmed by the WWE. I don’t bother arguing about the WWE Hall of Fame. I don’t consider it a real Hall of Fame. But wrestlers like the honor. I think the Hart Foundation is a tad overrated as a tag team. But this is the WWE’s way to get Jim Neidhart in the Hall of Fame since he didn’t have a noteworthy singles career. Speaking of Tag Teams, the Hart Foundation is in today’s Tag Team Tournament Poll!
