WWE RAW 6.11.18: The Three Key Stories w/Justin C

1. Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler Need A Bigger Role On RAW

I never thought I would see the day when I wanted to see more of Dolph Ziggler on RAW. But I’ve gotten to that point after his recent pairing with Drew McIntyre. These two have been great together so far. And honestly, I think they are bigger than the tag team division. There are multiple ways they could be used better. I once suggested pairing them with Roman Reigns and Bobby Roode in a big heel stable, but I don’t think that will ever happen. But if they are going to win the tag team titles then they need to hold them for a very long time. RAW’s tag team division is awful and there is currently no one at their level when it comes to talent and being over.

2 Both Women’s Matches Were Good Tonight

After the awful opening segment I was not looking forward to what was ahead with the Money in the Bank participants. But I thought the women’s fatal four way was pretty good with everyone getting their offense in and looking good. Of course Sasha Banks took a hard bump into the barricade that was completely unnecessary for a random RAW show. But the match was good. And the Ruby Riott/Bayley match later in the night was good as well. I don’t know what they are doing now with the Riott Squad throwing shit around and writing “R” on their opponents, but hopefully they don’t make it too cartoonish. But both matches from the women tonight kept my attention throughout and that is a plus for anything on RAW in recent weeks.

3. Nia Jax Should Be Nowhere Near A Live Mic

I really hate ripping into someone as bad as I’m about to, but Nia Jax is horrible on the mic. I know she’s reading off a script but she is god awful at her delivery. Her listing of the stuff that is legal in the WWE but not UFC was awful. Everything about her sitdown segment with Ronda Rousey sucked. We now know that Rousey can get the armbar on Nia, so why should there be any intrigue about their match? Oh yeah, to watch the booking gymnastics the WWE will have to do to book it. Nia is no good on the mic and no good in the ring. Yet she is getting this match with Ronda Rousey. Going away from the Mickie James/Rousey match that they were likely going to is going to come back and bite the WWE in the end. There’s a possibility Nia could injure Ronda on Sunday. Nia needs to get far away from the Women’s Title sooner rather than later.

Other Notes

-Shaved Head Corbin is now a thing. And as a guy that regularly shaves his head I approve of it.

-That opening ladder promo was a giant waste of time that accomplished nothing.

-Coming back from a commercial break and following it up with an in match ad for Money in the Bank is stupid.

-An obstacle course? Man they really are going for worst feud of the century with Sami Zayn and Lashley aren’t they?

-If you drank every time they said the word “momentum” tonight you’d be dead.

Until Next Time,
