The Chairman’s Hell in a Cell Predictions

This Sunday, the WWE superstars on the Smackdown Live brand present their latest pay per view Hell in a Cell. The card has seven confirmed matches and one preshow match, two of the matches on the card will take place inside the demonic structure known as Hell in a Cell. Who is walking away from Hell in a Cell victorious? Keep reading to see my predictions and see if we agree or disagree on the upcoming matches at Hell in a Cell.

PRESHOW: Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley & Zack Ryder)

While newly formed team Gable and Benjamin are picking up wins, experienced tag team The Hype Bros are on a long losing streak. Frustration is clearly showing in Rawley and Ryder and this match here against Gable and Benjamin could very well make or break the future of the Hype Bros. I don’t see Gable and Benjamin losing here keeping them on their winning ways so we could very well see the final match of the Hype Bros leading to a betrayal after the match?

PREDICTION: Gable & Benjamin

BONUS PREDICTION: Ryder turns on Rawley

Randy Orton vs Rusev

Orton started off 2017 with a bang winning the Royal Rumble and defeating Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania for the WWE World Championship. Yet it feels like he’s just there… Orton hasn’t exactly had any memorable great matches and Summerslam his match with Rusev was over in a blink of an eye. Rusev meanwhile is trying to regain momentum after his injury earlier this year and a win here against Orton may help. This feud isn’t really helping either superstar and the sooner it ends the better. In the end, I don’t see the Viper losing this one, though the match may last more than twelve seconds.

Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is having some strange identity crisis lately by stealing other superstars entrances because that’s what the WWE Universe likes. Bobby Roode’s entrance theme is one of the most popular and that is why we’re having this match at Hell in a Cell. Were having this match because Ziggler thinks Roode is nothing more than an entrance. I’m sure Ziggler is going to steal Roode’s entrance, but he won’t be stealing the show. Roode will defeat Ziggler as Ziggler puts over another recent NXT call up.

AJ Styles © vs Baron Corbin (WWE United States Championship Match)

Styles has taken on all comers for his United States Championship, however one of those superstars won’t go away. That man is Baron Corbin. Corbin is convinced that he will defeat Styles. Styles however reminds Corbin of his shortcomings and this one will be no different. I don’t see Styles dropping the United States Championship to Baron Corbin so I’m going with the Phenomenal One.

PREDICTION: AJ Styles retains

Natalya © vs Charlotte (WWE Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Match)

Natalya and Charlotte are no strangers to legacies being that wrestling is in their blood. These two had a fantastic match years ago for the NXT Women’s Championship and I think we’re in for a treat here as well. This match could go either way, but I’m going to say Natalya successfully retains here. Though don’t count out Carmella and her Money in the Bank briefcase. This could be the night she finally cashes in.

PREDICTION: Natalya retains

The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston w/ Xavier Woods © vs The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) (Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship)

These two tag teams have feuded for the tag team titles all summer long and in every type of match imaginable and it finally ends here. Hell in a Cell is the perfect place to end this feud and let these two tag teams move onto other feuds. Only one tag team is going to leave Hell in a Cell with the titles however and I predict New Day. New Day will have the numbers game. Plus I don’t see the Usos winning otherwise that will prompt another rematch. This is the perfect stipulation to end this feud so New Day wins.

PREDICTION: New Day retains

Jinder Mahal © w/ The Singh Brothers vs Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE Championship Match)

If there ever was a superstar to make me not care about the WWE Championship, it’s Jinder Mahal. In my opinion, this is one of the worst title reigns in the history of WWE. This feud has done nothing for me and it’s resorted to Mahal using horrible comedy against Nakamura. I don’t know what WWE is doing, but they’ve managed to make me not care about Nakamura. Nakamura is a fantastic wrestler, but this feud is just terrible. In my opinion Nakamura should hoist the title, but it’s not happening. WWE is so obsessed with their India expansion, they’re willing to sacrifice everything to keep Mahal champion and after Sunday, things remains the same.

PREDICTION: Jinder Mahal retains

Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens (Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match)

This match is going to make the pay per view! The build has been brilliant and things have gotten personal. Kevin Owens is the best heel on the Smackdown Live roster right now and he’s done some dastardly things the past few weeks. I’ll be the first to admit I was skeptical when Shane McMahon was announced as AJ Styles opponent at Wrestlemania, but I was proven wrong. Therefore I expect McMahon and Owens to put on a great show. I’m anxious what the future of Smackdown Live will be after this match and whether or not Sami Zayn plays a role in this one? I don’t see Owens losing this. I think Owens destroys McMahon which leads to something bigger that we don’t know about yet.

Those are my predictions for Hell in a Cell. Agree? Disagree? Let me know! I will say the matches I’m looking forward to the most is the Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens Hell in a Cell Match and the New Day vs Usos Hell in a Cell Match. The matches I’m not interested in are Orton vs Rusev and Mahal vs Nakamura.
