WWE News: Daniel Bryan Pulled From Remainder of European Tour
PWInsider has confirmed that Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the remainder of the European Tour as a precautionary measure.
The news is a bit concerning as it pertains to Bryan. Bryan missed the second half of 2014 with a neck injury. Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 30 but was forced to relinquish the Title after it was revealed that he needed neck surgery. Even after the surgery, Bryan still couldn’t gain full strength in his arm. A second surgery was recommended, but Bryan opted for a form of physical therapy that helped gain strength back in his arm.
Many people feared that not having a second surgery for Daniel Bryan was only a short term fix. With news coming out that Bryan’s injury is concerning WWE officials, it looks like those fears may be coming to a reality.
What is most important is that Bryan gets healthy. Daniel Bryan is a phenomenal in ring worker who captivated an audience in the build to Wrestlemania 30 and forced a change to the WWE’s main event on their biggest show of the year. But if things are getting worse again for Daniel Bryan, you have to wonder if it may be time for Bryan to step away from the ring. As much as we love seeing Daniel Bryan perform in the ring, his health and well being is what is most important. Far too often wrestlers don’t know when to step away from the ring. Exhibit One for me is Kurt Angle. Angle should have stepped away a long time ago. I cringe every time I see Angle in a ring.
The WWE has the roster to deal with Bryan being out for an extended period of time. The fans will get behind the likes of Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, hell even Roman Reigns if given the chance. There’s no reason for the fans to be crapping on Reigns hard like they have. Has Reigns been booked poorly? Sure. But every single fan booing him now needs to remember they were the same ones CHEERING him when he eliminated an entire team at Survivor Series 2013. They also cheered him at the 2014 Royal Rumble. But that’s another topic of discussion.
Daniel Bryan needs to get healthy. And if that means him being of TV for a year, or retiring all together, then so be it. Fans will always complain about Bryan not being WWE Champion, but they need to worry about his health first and foremost.
